A family's solution to "I'm BORED!!!"

Following the chaos from the holidays, the past few weekends have been fairly quiet. We've been catching up on movies we've been meaning to watch and books we've been meaning to read. But, needless to say, each weekend we have had moments where boredom has struck. Often our family wakes on a Saturday wondering “what do we do today?” Do we hop in the car with no destination in site? Do we go to a local park? Do we sit at home and do nothing?

Make Your Own Snowflakes

A great craft to try on a snowday!

There isn't snow outside (yet), but here's a fun craft to do with your child to make a beautiful snowflake!
You will need:
  • white pipecleaner
  • clean, empty mason jar or spaghetti sauce jar
  • 2-3 cups of water
  • 1/3 cup borax (found in the laundry aisle of the grocery store)
  • string, ribbon, or floss
  • spoon
Use a white pipecleaner to create a snowflake-like shape. There is no wrong way to do this. Tie a piece of yarn/ribbon/floss to the "snowflake" so that you can hang it ...
